Question by James Davis: Why do sport sunglasses not cater for long vision customers?
I have been looking at getting prescription sport sunglasses. But a lot of the makers (like Oakley, Adidas, Nike, etc) dont seem to provide frames that can hold thick lenses in place. Which sort of defeats the purpose in the first place.

Can anyone one recommend a sunglasses manufacturer that makes sports frames that will hold thick lenses for long visioned eyes?

It’s not really that they don’t cater to folks who have strong prescriptions, it’s that with modern eyewear fashions with sever wraps and rake, it is not possible to produce a lens that fits the frame curvature that is as thick as you would need without creating so much distortion as being unusable.

I know this is for the goggle, but they make “Regular” looking sunglasses and eyewear as well. Very impact resistant (used by the military), but the optics aren’t as good as Oakley.
